"Drowning In The Deep Blue Sea" Written, performed by David K. ©2020davidksongs ~ David Keiski

Some songs pop out flowing right away, sometimes at least to me, and this one felt good right out of the shoot. Water can be such an empowering force, peaceful, beautiful, yet often devastating when Mother Nature unleashes her. The feeling of being left, abandoned, can be so isolating, even while still in the midst of a world of people, activity and function. Still, you can feel like you're left drowning in the deep blue, miles away from any shore, sinking to the cold ocean depths. This song is like that executioner, asking, "Any last words?" Just prior to the firing squad. She's packed her stuff and she's in the cab at the sidewalk. She's angry but still a bit of a tear cuz she's sad, too. You know it's over but you still beg her, "Please don't leave me... drowning in the deep blue sea."
